1. Agree the date without spoiling the whole present
Knowing the recipient is free matters more than hiding every detail. Ask them to keep an evening or afternoon clear, check travel arrangements and include anyone who will join them. If you cannot establish a workable date, a voucher is a better fit than an unchangeable ticket.
2. Pick seats for the actual group
Choose the number of tickets first, then inspect the seat map or category description. Confirm all seats are together if that matters. Read restricted-view and access notes before payment. A gift for two should mean two confirmed places, not a guess that a second seat will be available later.
3. Enter the person who will attend
The checkout separates the signed-in buyer from a different lead guest. Use the relevant option when buying for someone else, and check the name and contact details carefully. In guest checkout, follow the lead-guest prompt. This is a booking-time choice; it does not promise that a ticket can be transferred or renamed after purchase.
4. Think about the email surprise
Do not assume the booking has a silent delivery mode. Confirmation and operational messages may reach the contact supplied in checkout. If keeping the present secret is essential, check the delivery instructions and ask tickadoo support before paying. Scheduled voucher delivery is a separate feature; do not assume fixed-date tickets work the same way.
5. Give the usable ticket, not just a reveal card
A printed message can make the handover special, but it is not an admission document. Pass on the actual ticket or the provider’s delivery instructions, the performance time, venue and any ID requirements. Keep the order reference available in case the recipient needs help.
Check that you are booking the New York production
Shows such as Wicked, Hamilton and Harry Potter can have listings in different cities. Start with the New York product and confirm the venue in checkout. This guide’s Wicked listing is at the Gershwin Theatre; its Hamilton listing is at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Check the recipient’s travel dates before selecting a performance. A familiar title or a show-themed card is not enough to establish the right city.
What to hand over after the booking
Share the final show name, venue, date, start time and ticket-delivery instructions with the attendee. Check whether the issued document or booking instructions require ID or specify collection. Keep the order reference available. If you will not be attending, do not assume your presence is unnecessary merely because you entered a different lead-guest name: read the actual option’s requirements or ask tickadoo support before payment.
